Hello, my work permit expires January 24, 2019. I am getting married in Canada on January 12. My fiance is a Canadian citizen. I want to apply for an inland spousal sponsorship. I have my temple and party at a restaurant and hotel all booked. I am getting my marriage application on January 2, 2019. I wanted to know what is the process for filing so I do not have to leave Canada. Can I apply online for visa extension due to marriage? Because after marriage I will get all my documents together and file for spousal sponsorship within Canada so hopefully by end of January. Or should I file spousal sponsorship before my work permit expires? I want to basically stay in Canada throughout the entire process and not have to leave the country. Please advise me what is the best step to take.
Won't it take some time for the open work permit? In the mean time my current work permit will expire. Should I apply for temporary visa in the mean time?
Okay so my best bet is to apply for inland spousal sponsorship and open work permit before my current work permit expires and then I can be in Canada till I get my open work permit even though my current one has expired, correct?
How do I change my status to visitor from work permit? And what documents will I need to provide for reasoning? I have marriage license. Anything else I need to show?

So apply to change your status to visitor BEFORE you current permit expires. Get married and wait for certificate, then file sponsorship and open work permit application. You don't need to leave Canada, the only downside is you can't work till you get the new work permit.

Thank you. What document do I need to provide with the application? Just my marriage license or anything else? Any proof of booking marriage at my temple or restaurant for a party or anything?
