A friend of mine Applied from Abu Dhabi under general student category , 23 years old from Brazil. bank statement 50K CAD , admitted to Douglas College in Vancouver for English but targeted program is CIS Diploma. Family is in Abu Dhabi.
These are some of the things i caution people from.
Why i would someone leae his native home to study English in a foreign land(Canada).By and large,i believe it would be far much cheaper in ABU DHABI than there.
How would you convince the VO of your studies?Just one qstn and you are knocked down.Sorry,he has little chances not unless pursuing English to high levels e.g masters etc.
He didn't apply for English , but been put as english because he has a low TOEFL score. on the document sent from the college to the embassy it says that his target Program is CIS Diploma.
I would advice you take your time.First work on your TOEFL and score the required marks/grade wanted.Because if you dont, you shall suffer in 2 ways, one the VO can easily use that to disqualify you and more so you will still have to join the English department of that college for you will have to be placed in a mandatory English for academic purpose cause ok.
Anyway,what is CIS in full.
Take your time and remember these visa issues arenormally very tricky and dont creat a soft ground to fail in the interview. The people normally look for small weaknesses in people.
i am not agree with Habil,
Cause i emailed the isb embassy, i wrote to the embassy that, IS IELTS OR TOEFL IS THE REQUIREMNT OF EMBAASY OR COLLEGE/ISTITUTE?
they replied me on a very next day that
DEAR CLIENT,
IELTS OR TOEFL IS NOT THE REQUIREMENT OF STUDY PERMIT.
CIS stands for computer information systems Diploma and it's for 2 years.
My friend been accepted by Douglas ollege but since he has only 80 on his TOEFL they placed him in English as a second language for 4 months. After that he will be admitted to CIS , and it's been written on the letter to the embassy.
Hey,i believe you are not in a hurry ,are you? The VOs are normally very unpredictable man. They may have told you that but how sure are you that the person who responded to you is the same one you shall find during your interview?
Secondly ,you shouldnt have written to the embassy for that shows that you sonthave info on the requirements if the college you are applying to hence a failure.
It may not be a requirement for the embassy but the for the college or institute yes.How will you study if you cant speak/write in English?
Pls,pls,pls,pls just take your time.
If you are in a hurry, let me not stop you.May you succeed.
