Visa approval before biometric

Hi, I and my spouse had biometrics as part of old visa process. Our visa expired so we submitted new application. After sometime we got letter to give biometric. After 2 weeks we got a confirmation that visa is approved but we have yet to give biometrics. They probably found out later that we had biometrics done already and approved the application l. Now we are not sure if we need to Gove biometric or not and send our passport for visa printing.
