Visa applied but travel dates are closer

Hello,
I’ve applied my visitor visa through online mode and my application handled by consultant in india. I’m currently holding a student visa in Australia and I’ve applied a visitor visa to canada.

submitted application on 05 dec
Biometrics letter on 06 dec
Biometrics submitted 06 dec
And my travel dates are 10th december - 20th december

So does my visa gonna approve by such a short time ?

It says 12 days. So are they gonna issue visa when my travel dates past ? (I mean if its 12th dec and my travel date is 10th.)

Yes, if it’s approved they’ll still issue it.

You shouldn’t have left applying so late. Are you able to get a refund if you cancel your tickets? I don’t see how you could be approved in 5 days.

Actually I didn’t booked any flights yet. But I’ve submitted a hotel booking. My agent didn’t mentioned anything about flight tickets !

That is good. You are not recommended to buy flights not submit proposed itinerary.

Obviously flight tickets these days for the best deals are non refundable which is why everyone recommends not buying without a visa in hand. Disadvantage of course is the closer to the travel date the higher the price but better than either losing the whole amount or paying a change fee.

Hotel bookings on the other hand are generally fine to cancel or defer without charge so for once an agent whether by chance or not has provided some good advice even if by default or in error.

I am also sri lankan, if we have submitted from srilanka, our application will be processed fast than abudhabi, i am not sure how is india nowadays
