I graduated with masters degree in May 2011. I want to apply for a post graduate certificate course for September 2016. Is it true that the visa will be rejected if there is a gap of more than five years between educational qualifications? I will be applying under the general category. Kindly help.

well gap wont matter if u have been employed in between or have done something during that 5 years. U r doing PG cert after masters which may be a cause for rejection. after masters a PhD or another masters is recommended.
Yes i have been workimg for the past five years. Both full time and volunteer work. The course i am planning to apply is a graduate certificate with co-op. My counsellor said that it equivalent to a masters degree.

lol ye right and I found a unicorn. dont trust agents/counselors they often lie as they get commission from college to send people hence they will never suggest masters in a university
Thank you for your reply are u on a student visa in canada? Can you share details of your current educational/professional status? Also im not keen on doing a PhD. My counsellor said a second post graduate degree will raise questions as to why i am pursuing a second masters degree. Also she said i might be late to apply for a masters as the processing time takes upto a year?..

I was a student did master here in canada now working. agents will lie twist the truth to get u to do diploma pg diploma etc so do ur own research and then decide if u find pg cert better then do it but do ur own search dont blindly believe agents.
Thank you for your reply. I am looking at masters programs for september intake. I just have one more question. Is a graduate diploma different from a graduate certificate and is it a good option to pursue?
Thanks
