My husband sent his passport to the Vienna visa office today, and then we saw the following message on Vienna's VO website:
"Visa and Immigration section is no longer open for submission of applications, documents or passports, or any enquiries."
Does this mean that my husband will not receive his passport back before 2018? Has anybody else seen this message? What do they mean by that?

First of all congratulations! Did your husband get instructions as of how and where to send his passport? I assume that he did. If so then no need to worry. If they wouldn’t issue visas anymore they wouldn’t ask him to send passport there.

Thank you! Yes, he received the PPR with all the instructions yesterday and sent the passport this morning. I hope that you are right, it would be a very long wait if we have to wait until 2018
