Hello,
My job code is 2172 and its falls under NOC A, I have recently written CELPIP exam and got the following score:
Reading: 5H
Writing: 3H
Listening: 5H
Speaking: 4L
Here is the Band level for score.
CELPIP CELPIP Level (CLB) Equivalencies
Level Descriptors
5H Effective or Advanced Proficiency CLB 10, 11, 12
5L Effective Proficiency CLB 9
4H Adequate Proficiency (High) CLB 8
4L Adequate Proficiency (Low) CLB 7
3H Developing Proficiency (High) CLB 6
3L Developing Proficiency (Low) CLB 5
It would be very great if someone can please let me know if I am eligible to apply for PR under CEC ?
Thanks
Eshwar
I'm sorry to tell you that you might need to retake the exam...
I just posted the question and got an answer from someone...
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/language-testing.asp
4L is the minimum for Noc A and 0....
If I am wrong, don't blame me please... but this is what I get right now...
yep..i agree with glenda..4L is the minimum score you should get for Noc 0 or A..i mean minimum of 4L in every aspects..
I was looking at some questions regarding the same...
I found the below information in this website.
=========================
For Skill Level A you need:
◦CLB Level 7 or higher for each of the language abilities, or
◦CLB Level 6 for any one of the language abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability,
Example: someone's IELTS Score:
Writing @ 5 = CLB 5
Listening @ 6 = CLB 7
Reading @ 6 = CLB 7
Speaking @ 7 = CLB 8
Your score would be good enough for NOC B jobs, but because of your writing @ 5, your score is not high enough. Writing needs to be atleast 5.5 to be consider CLB 6 and 6.0 to be consider CLB 7 . If you want to apply for Skill Level A CEC, you need to retake the test
========================
It's mentioned here that if a person get CLB 6 in one ability and CLB 7 and above in remaining abilities then a person may be eligible to Apply for PR under CEC.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
Eshwar
Please help , Is the IELTS score is eligible for NOC 0213 ?
Listening 5.50
Reading 6.00
Speaking 6.50
Writing 6.00
OverAllBandScore 6.00
@Banty,
I think your NOC 0213 will fall under skill level O and you need band 8.
Does anyone applied for PR under CEC with scores like below, Please let me know.
Reading: 5H
Writing: 3H
Listening: 5H
Speaking: 4L

I did. But I advise you to take the exam again. I'am currently preapring a new application. If you sent application with these results you will get AOR but you will get refusal after 9 to 10 months. Do not take the change. Just take the exam again you will do way better. Review your grammar and youw will be fine.
My first results were as follow:
Reading: 4H
Writing: 4L
Listening: 5
Speaking: 3H
and the 2nd:
Reading: 5H
Writing: 4H
Listening: 5H
Speaking: 5L
Hi eshwar23
Can you please tell about your speaking exp
Just want to know, should we get little time to think before speaking
like say Computer asked Question tell me about a gift you have received from your best friend or so on
Then should we immediately start or we should take few second to think and speak
@Priority : Thanks a lot, I was just thinking as I obtain the min required points and someone in this forum mentioned that if we get band 6 in ability and band7 or above in rest of the abilities then CIC will consider it for PR under CEC.
Have you applied with 3H earlier and you got your application back now ?
@CEC2283: Yes, you will get some to think before you start recording and you need to manage everything in 30 mins. you will only have 40 seconds to record so you should communicate effectively in that time.
Hi folks ,
just my 2 cents for the people who scored one point (3H) less in only one section of test . Try to apply for re-evaluation of that particular section it cost only $50 + tax. i did my CELPIP 2 times & in both attempts in one section got 3H. I applied for re-evaluation & both got changed to 4L , in addition got my $50 also refunded . Its worth a try. re-evaluation result comes within 2 weeks & new score cards also get issued .

Here is rule that you are refere to: "in the case of a foreign national who has acquired work experience in one or more occupations that are listed in the Skill Level A of the National Occupational Classification matrix....: (B) 6 for any one of those abilities, 7 or higher for any other two of those abilities and 8 or higher for the remaining ability..."
This rule is obselete. You must have CLB 7 in all four abilities.
When applied I did not know about this new rule. I just went to CIC website and downloaded the required forms. I knew about it when I found this forum and after I sent my application.
Please see my timeline here opposite. I sent CIC an email to ask if it was fine to forward them my new test results. It has been 2 weeks now and I have not got any response from their end. I will wait 2 more weeks and if I do not have a positive response I will send a new application.

Hi Eshwar ! You must have CLB Level 7 ( 4L in all categories ) for NOC 2172.
Thank you all for your response...I will look forward to write the exam once more.
