Hello,
I'll send my visitor visa application this week. I was browsing VFS's website to check if there is anything else I have to do and I saw something which confused me:
Note: If you need to provide your biometrics, the biometric fee of $85 CAD covers the Canada Visa Application Centre service charge for application handling. Service charges for additional services listed below are not covered.
All applicants (in person or by courier/mail) who are submitting paper applications (with or without biometrics) will need to pay the Assisted Service – Paper Application fee. In addition, all applicants except those who must submit their Biometrics, will also need to pay the Package Transmission fee.

I already paid CA$185 for the application and biometrics. What is this "Assisted Service" fee? I did everything required and I don't think I need extra assistance.

You should ask the VFS you'll visit to be clear.

This is only if you are submitting a paper application. Best to check with them. This fees is for any assistance that they provide with your application. It is possible that for paper applications they are saying that expense will be incurred always.
