Hi everyone,

This is a quick question. I am going over the PRV forms for my wife and on some of them I can enter the UCI. We have 2 rejected TRVs under our belt, and on each they have the same UCI number but I assume it's attached her maiden name. Given that she has already changed her name to reflect that we are married, will she be issued a new UCI number, or should we use the existing one?

Thanks in advance. :)

According to the cic web site you use the one that you were assigned.

You won't be assigned a new UCI number. I also had a previous TRV refusal and my UCI then was assigned to my PR application as well.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, it appears that the UCI number is assigned to the person regardless of the name changes. Both her maiden name and married name are on the forms anyway, so they are linking it to the individual.

Thanks,

I too was in this situation, I used the same UCI# from the TRV for the PR app to be upfront since I was reasonably sure they would know anyway.

It would be very concerning if they were not able to identify if its the same or a different person.

Yes. this is correct. Once you have a UCI number, you should use the same number (and don't forget to include that you had refused TRV request in past). They ended up assigning my husband a different UCI number when we applied for PR (after having already applied for TRV which was rejected) cause we didn't know at the time. We had to send them letters to fix it.
