As immigrant can we apply for USA visitor visa(B1/B2) at Canada? or Since we have Indian passport we should apply for USA visitor visa from India before we leave for Canada.

Please advice

You can apply from Canada. But how do you defend your work status when you have just landed?
We applied for US visa from London before landing in August to enable us visit Family members in US.

hi mailvdutt

From what I've heard over the years, it is easier to apply for a B1/B2 visa in order to travel to the US when you are inside Canada, especially if you're a PR.

I think this is generally true that PR will have a better chance of getting a visa than say an Indian without a PR BUT, i am sure it is not absolute. So someone without a job might find it difficult to get a visa to the US even if that person is a PR whereas someone living in India with a job will get a visa. I am guessing because i haven't gone through this.
