I'm currentely in the process of applying for my second work permit via RO
When I was living in the US I went for a few days to Cuba and Mexico in February. Then I went to Canada for the weekend at the end of March. So between arriving in the US and going to Cuba it has been less than 6 months and then after coming back from Canada again less than 6 months.
My question is, does my trips count as "not living" in the US and the timer reset? I wonder if I need to get background check.

Full timeline
Arrived in USA Aug 28th 2017
Went to Cuba Feb 17th 2018 came back to US Feb 24th
Time between those two 5 months, 20 days

Went to Canada in March 30 came back March 31 2018
Left USA Sept 12th 2018
Time between those two 5 months, 12

Thank you for your advice.
