Suppose , I carry US$ 10k , how much it will be considered as CA$.
All Landed Immigrant who have carried US$ , please share your experience.

I DONT THINK THEY WILL CHECK THE CUREENCY YOU ARE CARRYING. YOU HAVE TO JUST MENTION THE AMOUNT. AT LEAST THAT'S MY EXPERIENCE WHEN I LANDED!

Cool
Thx mayank, if I carry partially US$ and partially CA$, say 10k each, will they convert US$ to CA$ and at what rate?

I had usd when i landed, and the officer did not convert the currency when he asked me how much finds i had - he immediately wrote the $ amount in the COPR without converting, so you can assume immigration consider 1 USD = 1 CAD.
note: its good that you are carrying some CAD in advance - its very important - at least for your taxi and first day expenses until you open your bank account...as the rate at pearson airport is really baaad....something like 83 CAD for a 100 USD!!!
Thx a lot emamabd, got ur point
