I am from Bangladesh. I've paid RPRF on 23rd October and haven't heard CIC since then
My query is about my daughter's passport expiration. She is an American Citizen by birth and her passport will expire on March 2016 that leaves me with 5 months in my hand.
Q 1) If I give her passport for renewal and then get PPR what's gonna happen?
Q 2) If I get PPR after getting her renewed passport then which one should I submit?
Q 3) How much time will I get to submit my passport to CIC?
1. If you submit her old passport, they would stamp on it and anyways you have to carry both the passports all the time when you travel. So it should not create any difference.
2. If you got her passport renewed, i think you still need to send both the passports as you have included her old passport copy for validation in previous steps.
3. It varies... For some it took 2 weeks and some 9 weeks on an average 4 weeks. I would let others comment on this.
The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 30 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and if applicable, permanent residence visa. If for any reason you are not able to meet this deadline, please inform us immediately by email and include the details of your situation.
Visa Exempt (In your daughter's case)
2. A PHOTOCOPY of your passport(s)
• One photocopy for you and one for each accompanying family member.
• Photo page only & amendment pages, if any
• Passports must be valid for at least 6 months
DO NOT SEND YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT(S)
If I were in your place, I would get a new passport for her and update CIC once I have it in hand.
You can use expedite service for new US passport, it costs a little extra but you get it very quickly.

Yup. Get the new passport. Send a CSE to CIC telling them of the change in passport number. Then send the new passport. If you are outside the US, you may be able to get it renewed very quickly. When I lived in Europe, I was able to renew my US passport twice - each time in a week or less.
