US Attorney needing to reside/work in Canada

I am an attorney in the US, but my wife and son are residing in Calgary. Wife and son are living there as refugee status; she is from Zimbabwe. My son is also sick, diagnosed with leukemia in January, but doing well. He has a 3.5 year treatment protocol. I want to relocate to Calgary as well in order to with my son, and find work, either as an attorney working in some capacity at a law firm until I can get licensed here (an arduous task according to my research) or doing something else that pays reasonably well while getting licensed here. I have been practicing for six years. If anyone has any advice on what to do in order to reach these goals I will be most appreciative.
