hey guys
So a cousin of mine was a failed refugee claimant and he was in his last year of education before his case was rejected and he left back. he wishes to atleast complete his final year. can he apply for a study permit? what are his chances? if not, what options does he have in coming back to canada? and how long would he have to wait.
Your cousin's chances of being approved for a student visa are extremely low. To be approved, he would have to prove that he has strong ties to his home country and has no plans to remain in Canada long term. Given he's a failed refugee claimant, this is going to be extremely difficult to show. Same for a visit visa.
I think his best option is to apply to immigrate through either the federal skilled worker or one of the provincial programs (if he qualifies).
hes been given 30 days to leave, if he leaves voluntary it will not be considered deported right?
while this process was going on he decided to complete a college 2 year diploma, unfortunately he only managed to do one year. and one is still left. but has experience with work here. would he still be able to immigrate with such qualifications as hes got work and education experience from here.
