Hi All. I have an urgent query. I am a Canadian permanent resident since 2019. I am a Pakistani national living in Malta (Europe). I lost my passport here in Malta and applied for a new one since I have planned to return to Canada. The Pakistani embassy nearest to Malta is in Tunisia and they have issued me a manual Pakistani passport (valid up to January 2022). I just want to confirm that I can travel to Canada using my manual passport and Canadian PR card (valid up to 2025). Someone mentioned to me that a manual passport is not valid accepted to enter Canada/USA, hence my concern.
I have contacted CBSA and they confirmed that I can travel using the manual passport. But when I asked them if I need to contact immigration as well, they said yes I should contact immigration to confirm as its their decision at the end of the day. I tried contacting IRCC but in vain. The call does not get transferred to an agent and I am unable to confirm this from immigration. I have raised the webform but don't have 5 to 10 days time to wait for their response.
It's really important for me to move right now. I really can not manage to travel to Pakistan at the moment.
