I am caught in a unique situation here. I have a Canadian PR and I have been residing in Toronto for over a year now. My fiance is in India and we had applied for a visitor visa for her in July.
Now we are getting married in November and I was wondering how to update the application if it has not been approved till then.
Canada has started an email channel for people that are exempt from travel restrictions - Immediate family members. Do you guys know how long it takes for them to respond?

I am no expert, but i think you can amend or withdarw your application and and create update/change application for PR for spouse instead of regular visitor visa.
It’ll raise eyebrows. And why didn’t you mention that then ?
As well TRV are issued to individuals who are visiting . If a spouse enters on a TRV to meet up with their spouse , the IRCC assumes they won’t be leaving , and that is contrary to what a TRV is for . It tips the scale

So my fiancee is a dentist in India and will have to study for a couple of years before she gets licensed to practice in Ontario. I am guessing that means a WP for her right now is out of question.
