Any kind help on this question of mine is very much appreciated:
I have been selected for 2018 parent sponsorship and have filled the applications but not sent yet. There reason is my concern explained below:
my sibling, a US citizen had also applied for immigrant visa for our parents- my mother now has a green card and been in US once, but my father application is still pending. My father's US visa suspension is the result of the recent unfortunate travel ban issued for a few middle eastern countries. We are not even sure if the immigration office will issue the visa eventually or not.
Now, I heard that if the US border officers find out that my parents have also applied for Canadian PR, they may abandon their green card. I also heard that the risk is much higher when you travel on ground between the two countries. I hesitate a lot whether I should send the application or not?
Please kindly share your ideas on this with me.
Also, how long it usually take for parent sponsorship to finally be issued?

You have to be careful not to chase 2 visas and miss both.....
You have a deadline to submit the Canadian PR application for your parents..........please ensure you don't exceed the deadline and risk going into lottery again without guarantee you will be selected.
if the US border officers find out that my parents have also applied for Canadian PR, they may abandon their green card........will advice you do more research into the credibility of that statement before you make your decisions.
