I became a PR last month but have not received my PR card yet. I am traveling tomorrow to Italy and then Turkey. I guess I need to apply for an urgent PRTD. Does anybody know how long it takes from Turkey? is it a slow office? Do you think I can get it in 2 weeks?
I guess I can apply from Rome as well but I will stay there for only a week. What should I do?
Don't expect to get it in 1-2 weeks

how long does it usually take?

Worse case scenario:
If you can return via the U.S., you could then enter Canada at a land PoE in a private vehicle (or on foot).
The only time that a valid PR Card (or PRTD) is required is if by traveling via a commercial carrier.
If your card arrives while you are away, it could be couriered to you abroad by someone, but not without some level of risk.
Would apply right now. You seem to be able to apply while still in Canada according to others.
