Hello there,

I hope you are all doing great :)

Here's my current situation:

Study Permit and TRV: Expires August 31 2020
Graduating / Classes end: December 20th 2019
Exiting Canada: January 12th 2020
Re-entering Canada: February 15th 2020

I'm leaving Canada and going to my home country on January 12th 2020 for a vacation. I would not be able to apply for PGWP because my transcript wouldn't be ready yet.

Is it safe to re-enter with a valid SP and TRV after graduating with no PGWP under process?

I'd really appreciate your suggestions and opinions. Thank you.

It's fine. You can tell CBSA you will be applying for your PGWP as soon as you have your documents.

According to IRCC policy and guidance, your study permit will still be valid 90 days after the day you complete your course or program of study (e.g., when notification in writing of program completion). However, I will advice you to carry proof that your final transcript/certificate will not be available until certain date as stated by your institution. I will suggest visiting the registrar office or student services as the case maybe for a proof of when it is likely for the transcript to be ready.

The problem is that they will be available at the of January. However I will be abroad (out of Canada's territory) at that time. Would that be a problem to re enter to Canada ? or I can re enter with my Study Permit and TRV at the end of February?

Technically I did finish my studies when I'm coming back, so I'm wondering if it's acceptable to say that I'm welling to apply for PGWP to the agent at the airport when I return to Canada ?

My transcripts will be available when I'm abroad but not before my departure date. So technically when I try to re enter Canada I will be considered as I finished my studies.

Is the institution planing any convocation ceremony later or after January?

Yes there will a ceremony later on June. and I also have a job offer to start working on the 2nd march.
You should be fine. Just have those relevant documents handy with you. You have good reason for re-entry. Safe trip!

Thank you :)
However the convocation for the ceremony will not be issued for now, it takes time to process. would A Job offer letter be enough to re enter without the need to apply for the PGWP (for which I will apply later when I'm back to Canada if they grant me entrance)?

You can apply for your PGWP from outside of Canada if you have the necessary documents.

Thank you :)

A job offer won't make a difference. It is a common scenario for international students to visit home after finishing their studies and then return to Canada. You are worrying for nothing.

I will not have the necessary documents in hand, that's why I'm asking if I will be granted entrance with only my SP and TRV given that I finished studies.

I'm not worrying but I'm just trying to understand how re-entry is regulated because it's not that documented with all the cases.
