URGENT-NEED HELP: Flag Polling - Form I-160A

Hi,

I am going to flag pole today and just called the US Customs and Border office that I am going to use.

They said they will give me the form I-160A. I asked if this means administrative refusal? They said no, this is I-160A.


Is this the right form to give me for flag polling?
Did others receive form I-160A while flag-polling and got no visa application issues in future?

PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IF YOU KNOW ABOUT IT.

As far as I know it is just a waiver.

Better to actually enter US for shopping or a short trip and do landing on your way back to Canada. Or go to CIC Office inland. It only took me 10 mins at CIC Office and also I believe they process PR card a little faster.

After landing at the CIC Office i went straight to service Canada to get SIN and they issued me right away. I heard if you go to border, it takes them few days to update our landing status for service Canada to issue sin. So if believe SIN and PR card processing is a bit faster if you do inland landing.

Do you mean I-160A is a waiver? So it is different and better than "administrative refusal"?

I am not doing this for landing. I am on a work permit and need to accompany my little child to flag pole.

To do this, the US Border office told me on phone that they will give me form I-160A and said this is not "administrative refusal", while I had read that when flag-polling you receive "administrative refusal".

I am afraid the form he mentioned will have bad effects in my record.


So I need to know if others who did flag polling received the same form?

He said I-160 as far as I remember, the one you sent is i-601

What form did you receive from the US side when flag polling???

I called another US Boarder office and they again said I will receive I-160A form and this means I am withdrawing entry to US.
They also said it is not negative.

I guess I-160A (withdrawal) is for the one who is accompanying a person who needs to flagpole.
It would be great if anyone can share if this form is different than the case that and adult is flagpoling himself? I suspect an adult received "administrative refusal" when flag-poling themselves and in case I just accompany a child who needs to flag-pole I receive "Withdrawal" which is I-160A form.

Please confirm if you have flag-polled before, what form you received?

I heard we can't get an appointment soon at IRCC office for landing. Could you please let me know how long it took you to get an appointment at CIC/IRCC office.

I got COPR last week. Me and my dependents initially planned to go to land border (Niagara Falls) for landing. I have US visitor visa but my wife and son don't have US visa.

After reading few posts i thought of
1) Applying US visitor Visa for my wife and son, and enter US for some time, and come to back to Canada for landing
OR
2) get an appointment at IRCC office

I prefer #2 if i can get an appointment within a month time. I live in Toronto. Please advise.

I called up cic helpline on Wednesday afternoon and they gave me appointment for Monday. So third working day from the day I called.

I did the flag polling today. Seems the refusal one gets when flagpolling will not cause any issue with US visa application in future. This is what everyone is saying.

You mean you did landing by going to CIC in your city rather than flag polling? I will need to flag pole in few months to activate my next work permit. Do you think I can do it this way instead of going to US border?
