Hey guys,
I am receiving my passport on Friday from Ottawa office and I have to go to the border for landing then.
Note- I am already in Canada, I had a temporary resident visa that expired on April 4th. However, I applied for another resident visa through mail, so I don't have any proof for that except the payment receipt that was provided from CIC. I was told i am under implied status and is eligible to stay in Canada.
My question is what kind of documents do I have to bring with me to the border and do they generally ask for your status and proof of it?

I would say take that receipt of payment. since you are in implied status they will ask u....u need to take your previous workpermit as well...u can check cic and it is mentioned to carry all these documents for safe landing... please check this link and u will understand http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=748&top=22
