My neighbour just came from his home country and at airport he applied his asylum he got brown paper but now got email telling him he needs to apply his claim with in 45 days but when they already given him brown paper then why they sending him online Partel and telling him he needs to apply claim he got no job no work permit he can get get financial help please guide what he needs to do now his country having serious war situation he is from Iran please tell me what he needs to do does he needs to go to Montreal office face to face or he can do everything online how he can get free lawyer to apply his case he is confused because he already got brown paper and now he got from immigration apply again asylum and create online portel please help

So this is the process. After you file asylum at port of entry, they give you refugee ID which is valid for 6 years and some papers to follow up. Now what they are expecting from your friend is he needs to submit his BASIS OF CLAIM form, to be filled very carefully, he might needs to talk to a lawyer for this. After submission of all these he will get the medical request and then he will get the work permit.

You can check online for legal aid, but they are always useless. Go to a good lawyer instead. This is a very critical process don't fall for cheap agents. You have to spend some money to get your dreams fulfilled.
Basis of claim form is the most critical as the whole case will be based on the narrative your friend gives to IRB about his claim.

I wonder why your friend didn't get the work permit at the airport, because I have seen cases people getting 2 year work permit at airport when they filed the asylum. maybe they stopped it due to some reasons.

Thanks for your reply I don’t know him personally he is not my friend but he is my neighbour just want to help him now can you tell me how and where he need to submit his base of claim by paper or online or he has to go face to face thx

Apply for Legal Aid anyways. Then find a lawyer who accepts legal aid certificate. He can call the number, they also provide an interpreter if he needs. Good luck to him

as others have said apply for legal aid, it gives him access to a lawyer for free. it is worth doing especially if he cannot afford to pay for a lawyer. more info on legal aid is here https://www.aidejuridiquedemontreal.ca/en/
