Hi everybody , I really need your advice regarding the following issue :
My visa expires in January 2020 , I am on post grad work permit;
So I am thinking about extending it , as a 6 month , temporary tourist visa ,
I know that you have to be physically in Canada to apply for it , but what if I apply for it and go home country, cause I really need to see a family , can I leave Canada while waiting for decision outside ? And then come back here after February with a tioursit visa ?

Any extend stay as a visitor application in process would be void once you leave the country given is only an authorisation to remain and not a travel document.. You would need a valid a TRV to come back and how long you would be authorised to stay would be determined on entry.

So that means that once I leave the country, I won’t be able to re-enter Canada right ?

You can leave the country and apply for a TRV, I would not recommend it though. It is also not guaranteed that you will get 6 months extension

You can return home and apply for EE from outside Canada. There is no harm in doing so.
