Dears,
I need your advice ASAP.
I am an accepted refugee and applied for PR.
My son is suspected of having Autism.
My son is on the waiting list for evaluation and now is his turn.
We have to decide to do evaluation or not.
I want to do it but I am scared if he is diagnosed Autistic then we will have a huge problem for our PR.
Please share your thoughts.
That is very important for us and I really appreciate your help.
Best regards.
Jalal

Not at all. Protected person (accepted refugees) and their dependents are exempt from excessive demand. Your son’s condition may cause excessive demand for government services but by law they can’t refuse for this reason due to your status as refugee.

Thank you so much for this amazing news.
It would be only in case of public safety hazard. Like if he had some really contagious and dangerous illness (something like Ebola for example).

Hi Jalal. I wanted to ask you if you faced any issues while applying for PR while you have a dependent child who’s diagnosed with autism. Would appreciate any advice and guidance you can share. Thanks
