I am facing a complicated situation and need your advice:
I am residing in Canada on student permit and have recently applied for a Canadian visa since my previous visa was expired. I have to travel out of country urgently in 2 days and I am awaiting for my visa approval. I have a valid study permit.
- If the visa is approved in next two days, can I ask to have my visa printed by Canadian consulate in the third country I am visiting?
- If the visa is not approved by then - but likely to be processed and be called for passport request within next week, can I send my passport to Ottawa from outside Canada to get my visa printed?
-Worst case, how is the situation if I apply for Canadian visa again in the country I am visiting although it is not either my home country or is my residing country.
If your application for extension will be approved they will send you an email informing you that they will send the secured document in the address you provided in your application. But not asking to submit your passport.
a friend of mine had to go through this, when he go the approval while outside Canada, he send his passport to Canadian embassy in that country, stamped his visa and was able to go back to Canada with no issue ( he was visiting his home country )
If something happened and got refused, you would have to apply again from outside Canada, and would be better for you to apply from your home country.
regarding sending your passport from outside Canada to Ottawa, most post offices won't ship your passport overseas
If your application for extension will be approved they will send you an email informing you that they will send the secured document in the address you provided in your application. But not asking to submit your passport.
