Well I came to know that I am supposed to let scotia bank know that I had changed the university and have to email them my new offer letter asking for them to change it from the old institution to the new institution.

For that I had mailed to two accounts 1) newaccounts@scotiabank.com & studentgic@scotiabank.com.

First I got an auto response from Newaccounts@scotiabank.com and then I got a mail saying that please follow
http://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/0,,5698,00.html
regarding your query.

A day later studentgic@scotiabank.com mailed back saying
"Thank you for your interest in Scotiabank.
Application form, refund requests & follow up queries sent to this email will not be processed. For further instructions on submitting completed applications, refund requests & processing time lines please refer to our Application Guide document available on our website at http://www.scotiabank.com/ca/en/0,,5698,00.html
Email us only if you do not find a response to your query in the Application Guide as we will not provide response to queries already addressed in the guide.
For email response please allow for time difference, weekends and other Public & Bank Holidays in Canada. Please DO NOT send multiple follow up queries.
"

So I am a little confused as to whom I should mail and what response I am supposed to expect from Scotiabank for the change of institution.

Please help this is urgent.

Any one please?

You don't need to inform them about institution change in first place because the institution name is not mentioned on the GIC. If you've received the account details go ahead and fund it. I was in the same situation 2 months back. They told me to fund the already existing account.

My agent is making me hold the visa application submission just because they are unsure about this and are wasting my time by trying to find out what to do.

and some folks on here also mentioned that we have to mail them.

:(

Have you received the WIRE TRANSFER details in your secure mail ?

well to answer this i had a conversation with scotia bank via email and this is precisely what i got in reply
In response to your enquiry, you can change your college after opening GIC with the existing college letter. However, please do email a copy of the new offer letter to newaccount@scotiabank.com
then i replied
thank you for your reply. what should be my "subject" while providing you my new offer letter? in reference(my details) what do i have to mention(eg. passport number name etc )

then they replied
Subject - Offer Letter Update - (Last name,First Name), your date of birth, Passport number & GIC account number

Oh I sent it with the format of Name, DOB, passport Number and the GIC account number in the subject as that was mentioned some where

I could mail the newaccount@scotia bank again but their first reply was a standard one then then the second reply said that please check the FAQ. So I'm guessing it is fine to send followup 2nd email again?

Could you please tell me what exactly am I to expect from the reply?. because my agent says I need to wait for a few gic certificate which would take god knows how long to come.

So your saying I should not worry about letting them know that I had changed my university after my visa was rejected.

Once I reach Canada I should take the offer letter from TRU and show it to them even though in their file it is registered as Humber College?

There is nothing against policies or wrong in doing that..
