Updating Address?

I'm sure this question already exists somewhere on here, or probably somewhere on the CIC website, but I can't seem to locate the answer anywhere...

I am sponsoring my common law partner, I used my Canadian address as my mailing address, however, my partner's address has since changed since we sent off our application. Do I need to update his address as well (I'm assuming that if/when he receives PR approval they will mail documents to him?), or will they use my mailing address? And if I do need to update his mailing address, can I do that online (he's American - we're being processed in Ottawa) or do I need to call?

Has the sponsor been approved and is the new address a Canadian address? If the answer is Yes to both, log onto ECAS which is the online tool to check the status of the application and from there you are then able to change the address. If the new address is not a Canadian address use the case specific E-quiry below to fill out the change of address.

We have received sponsor approval - my partner is visiting Canada at the moment and staying with me, but is it okay for him to use my mailing address in Canada as his mailing address as well if we submitted our application as an outland sponsorship?

Yes thats fine, i used my partner's address in Canada while im living in the U.S at the moment while waiting for approval.
