I am unable to understand what they mean by 50% of the courses. How will they calculate it?
I have a thesis which is equal to 2 courses by the no. of credits. Will the thesis be counted as 1 course or 2 courses?
God knows why they can't make the 50% into 75%. So many of us Indians are stuck here and we are the 2nd largest source of international students there. We are not able to travel as we don't have airlines operating here. Air India is monopolizing and denying boarding.
What if January term is also online? Even then our travel will be "non-essential". At least they can make the PGWP limit 75%, or even 2/3rd which is 67%. We'll be able to live with peace of mind.
Now we have to somehow travel before December end. We are ready but they are NOT allowing us, saying online is non-essential. And we get penalized for their rule.
What I gathered from the information above is: It's better to ask your DLI about the delivery method of Fall 2020 & Winter 2021 session. Fall session in most of the colleges are online now but I have seen January semester online too for some cases. If your course is of 2 semesters and both goes online and your presence is not necessary in the country to attend them then VO can deny your visa because it becomes a distant learning course and study permit is not required. But if your course requires lab or in-person sessions or CO-OP is necessary to complete degree then they can go ahead and process visa application. These are temporary measure and once this Covid19 situation settles, sessions will be back to normal.
