Because the reputation of the school matters to Canadian employers.

I disagree. The reputation of the course is directly affected by the reputation of the university. Simply put, degree from the University of Toronto is on a completely different level than a degree from Ryerson. The school is extremely important. Whether you like it or not, in Canada, you are judged based on the school you attended.

My background: Born in Canada. Working in the Canadian banking industry for over 15 years. And yes - I'm involved in hiring.

Thanks so much for the information. Whenever I want to cross from college in Canada to Canadian university,I will work on the ranking. Though the tuition fee matters :P but who knows? I may be fortunate to be granted scholarship :)
