Hi,
I am currently unemployed and I am eligible for EI, and I know that there is a clause on the application that ask you if you are employed or unemployed and whether or not you are on EI.
1) It is not going to make a difference if I tick "unemployed" as long as I have more than 1 year's NOC O and A work experience. Right?
and
2) If I answer in the affirmative that I am on EI will this pose as a complication for the approval of my PR? or should I wait to send off my documents for my PR and then apply for EI?
In anyways, I am sure I will not be applying for EI as I am positive I am going to find a job before that, but, I just needed some clarifications.
I applied for CEC a week ago and I am currently unemployed. I meet all the condition for CEC however I am worried if there will be negative impact on receiving EI while on CEC. I understand, there is no regulation rejecting application under EI but many friends of mine are afraid of getting EI due to those worries. Anyone experienced same situation and received PR successfully?
Hi,
I am currently unemployed and I am eligible for EI, and I know that there is a clause on the application that ask you if you are employed or unemployed and whether or not you are on EI.
I got laid off in March and right now on EI. Please note the following points
1. As long as you worked for atleast one year your application wont be affected from your EI claims.
2. You are getting EI because there is some amount which is deducted from your salary while you are working.
EI and CEC PR applications works in a different way, all they want to see is you worked here before and paid taxes.
I enquired this from a lawyer as well as CIC helpline.
