I have been unable to link my account for the last four months.
Timeline
Application received by CIC: January 9, 2017
AOR1: March 2, 2017
File transfer to local VO: May 2017
AOR 2: May 8, 2017
Ecas status: application started processing on May 4, 2017
I have been trying to link my account but unable to do so. I have written twice to CIC but all I received was instructions on how to link. I am just wondering if anyone had this experience in the past and what worked for you. Or if there is anyone else with the same experience- not able to link.
I have the same issue. I contacted immigration and they replied telling me that the problem is with my place of birth. I have written it the way I wrote in the application and tried many other ways but it has not worked
I had the same problem but somewhere in the forum I read that even if no one is accompanying you. Put the value as 1 in the "person accompanying with you" field.
Hello go. quebec I learnt about linking through this forum, that's when I had just submitted my application in January this year. When I received my aor via email, I was encouraged by CIC to link my application to allow for faster processing but have not been able to do so.
Basically linking your file allows you to get updates in real time regarding your application status. Young can go onto the cic website using this linkhttp://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp
You will need to create an account first.
Some person's in this forum were able to link even before receiving AOR while others were only able to link after AOR.

according to the present trend, your timeline is okay. no worries
I have finally been able to link my account. We are a family of 4 and I indicated this when I completed the application forms. However I was not getting through to link my account using this data. I just read a post from last year with someone in a similar situation. Because my first son is Canadian citizen, he is not considered by CIC it seems as 'part of the application' , meaning I had to put 3 when trying to link. So I just tried that and it worked -finally.
My status shows: Application status We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more info. from you. Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements. Review of medical results If you need a medical exam, a message with instructions will be sent to you. Help Review of additional documents We do not need additional documents. Help Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes. Help Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes. Help Background check Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check. Help Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.
