I have received my British Police clearance to submit with my permanent residency application. I have submitted all my paper work in August, but have received a message from CIC asking for further information on my police clearance that states NO LIVE TRACE. When this incident happened back in 2003, I was not charged with or detained for this. CIC are asking for court papers / police report of the incident. This did not go to court and when speaking to ACRO (UK police clearance) they informed me that there is no paper work could provide me to explain this, only verbally over the phone and the explanation they provided me when I received the police clearance (where they explain what a NO LIVE TRACE means)
Can anyone suggest anything I could do about this? I have 7 days to submit an answer and I dont know what to do
If you don't get it in 7 days then provide all evidence you can about what happened etc and that you have applied for this and will send it as soon as you have it.
just write an detail explanation with correct date and actually describe the whole process to how you were caught and how they released you.
Take supporting letters from any 2 people who are witness and give details of both of them.
This should be fine but still if you think of any supporting document like if you can get something written by police stn. Will be better. Also add the proof that you have applied for subject access.

In accordance with with freedom of information act you can request the whole file, which contains all of the records contained in the database on you. This would include, all the cautions, records, criminal information.
According to UK law, you are deemed rehabilitated and thats why it shows no live trace, but the record will still exist.
A caution will always show as "no live trace".
Alternatively, you can contact the police station where the incident happened and inquire about how to get the records of what occurred.
I have no live trace on my record I was but I don't actually know what will be on it it's all from when I was a kid eg before the age of 16 and I had to go court for something I was being accused of when I was 17 (got in with the wrong crowed) but was found innocent I'm submitting a request to find out what it is will this be a problem getting into Canada and accepted as haven't declared it on my initial application as I was told my record would be cleaned when turning 18
Thanks
