Hi! Please let me know what everyone wrote that has a typical Residence Visa that gets renewed every 2 years.
I own my own business so I am not sure if I should put a worker status, or if I should be putting foreign national or Other. I have lived in Dubai, UAE for 28 years and have to renew my visa every 2 years. Up till being an Adult I was sponsored by my father but now I have my own Visa attached to my company.
I asked this question before and non middle east residents seem to think I should put either Foreign national, other, or worker. I am very confused. No one has said to put Permanent Resident though! have you asked a lawyer or consultant about it?
it's just called a ''Residence Permit'' Its valid for 2 years and needs to be renewed every 2 years. He has been doing it since the past 25 years, renewing it every 2 years..

That's true it doesnt sound right to be called a stateless residence but I am not sure Permanent resident sounds right either. I wonder if someone who has done this before could help! Someone whos application was successful..

The renewal in his case is based on being employed in a company ( whether it's his own or any random company). Whereas for me my husband is my sponsor and my renewal is based on him having a residence permit. If he loses his status so do I and I'd have to get a job to get a new sponsor to stay in the country.
When he was a child, my husband's sponsor was his father. But his father can't be his sponsor after 21 years old.
Although the permit has to be renewed every 2 years, it becomes invalid if the resident is out of the UAE for more than SIX months.
The ''sponsor'' of his visa is his own company that he works for.
Even if for my husband on the form we wrote ' Worker' status, I have no idea what my status would be on the form because I don't have a job and my sponsor is my husband!
