On our marriage certificate we sent in with our inland application my husband`s name has a typo that we didn`t realize until now when I ordered a new one for registration of our marriage in my country.
His name is initially for example: John R. Smith.
It appears on the certificate as: John R.Smith- without space in between the initial and the last name.
I already ordered to get it corrected but I wish to know whether it will cause any problem during the process. I do hope if they need the correct one they will just request it.
If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.
I don't think it will matter. If it is just a missing space, they will most likely think it is just a typo. It's not like one of the letters is different.
Get the corrected certificate, but I doubt CIC will ask for it.
Thank you, canadianwoman. My thoughts were the same. I have to register our certificate and my son`s birth certificate in Hungary in order to obtain a new passport. I asked the embassy and the authorities about the issue, both said I have to get it corrected first to be able to register outland. That made me question whether CIC will have any issues. Unfortunately, my husband`s name always is a headache- no matter he opens a bank account, gets a license, any ID or official document, we end up with either a typo, spelling mistake or missing first names. He has been cursed with it all his life and doesn`t even have a really complicated name.
whoa! my husband is hungarian He has dual citizenship. He left when he was 21.
I visited last year and its so incredibly beautiful. I want to needle way at him to return to Hungary when we are older. LOL.
I love it! Yes more than Canada! :'(
Haha, you are too funny Honeybird! Yes, I love my little country. I told the same, my husband and I can move back when we retire...well, it`s not going to be soon. Do you have plans when will you land?
not yet..i am timing my arrival for a longish weekend with hubby. Arriving on the 16th then he takes 2 days off and long weekend (family day holiday) and then i am alone at home to watch tv all day (well...working on getting a job!)lol. How about you? job lined up in canada? what are your plans?
You must be very excited! I don`t know how hard it can be to be separated I can only imagine. Me and my hubby never spent more than a day apart. Actually I work in Canada for more than two years, so I will save the hassle of getting a job. I don`t think I will change workplace if I get an OWP or PR, I am pleased with it. Good luck with the jobhunting and most of all to start your life with your husband together!
