Hi, I have received my acceptance letter and paid my acceptance deposit. I am preparing my study permit application (Non-SDS). But I am confused about the two step process? Is it still effective?
Also, I have one confusion, I am eligible to apply through SDS. I know that in SDS I need upfront medical exam. But I want to know if it is compulsory to submit first year tuition fee or proof of funds is sufficient at this stage?

Regarding your question about the 2 step process and whether or not it applies for Winter '21 intake.... I applied for my Study Permit with LOA for Winter '21 and got an AIP. So I guess they are applying this process for applicants of Winter 21. The strange thing is; it was stated clearly in a recent Webinar that AIP (or 2 step process) is only applicable for Fall '20 applicants.

Hi there! I lodged my application last August 21 (SDS), then biometrics Sept 21 as the VFS just opened here in PH. Did you apply thru SDS? If yes, did you receive your AIP before submitting your biometrics or after? Thanks. My LOA is for Winter 2021 btw.

Hello. My application was non-SDS. I have biometrics from last year's TRV Tourist application. I got my AIP like 12 days after submitting my application. Did you get an AIP?

The 2 step process is only applicable to you if you if you submitted your application before the 15th of September. Applications submitted after the 15th of September aren't eligible for a 2 stage processing yet.
There's no word on how IRCC is planning to process applications submitted after Sept15th, but considering how covid cases are increasing in many parts of the world they might extend the 2 stage processing for winter applicants as well.
