Tuition credits tax refund on a work permit

Hello, I am currently on a work permit and am preparing to file my tax for 2023. I have ~ 60K in tuition credits and paid tax of ~ 12K this year. Will i be getting a refund of 9K (15% of 60k in credits) when I file for taxes this year. I am trying to understand how this works. Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot.

It's a tax credit. It's not a refund. So no, this doesn't mean you will get a 9K refund.

Best option is to use a tax software tool to make sure the credits are properly applied.
