Hi everyone,
I got my PGWP recently. I am already in possession of a valid TRV which holds good for the next couple of years but has the student status on it. Do I need to apply for another TRV or does the existing one hold good with my work permit? Your feedback is much appreciated

You don't have to apply for a new TRV. I had been in a similar situation before. My student TRV was good for another year after I graduated. And I called cic to confirm if I can travel on my student visa though I am no longer a student but has a OWP. They said yes I can as long as my travel document (TRV) is valid. I made two trips back home without any issues.
Also if we look at the situation it's pretty obvious that TRV is a travel document and why one would have it cancelled and re-apply if it still has some life!
I applied for my new TRV like couple of months ago based on my OWP and it came in with no issues at all. Hope it helps
Thanks a lot buddy. That was really helpful and I very much appreciate your feedback.
Always helps to have an answer or feedback from someone who has been in a similar spot as it is very reassuring
