Hi ,
I'm from Singapore a country that is visa exempt and my husband is a Canadian citizen.
Can someone explain to me what advantages a TRV would have besides entering on a visitor visa and extending it if I want to stay longer in Toronto?
Has anyone one applied for a TRV from the Singapore embassy? Timeline?

Hi
A TRV is only for citizens of non visa-exempt countries. You can't get one.
You can enter Canada as a visitor without a visa for 6 months. If you want to stay longer, apply online at the 5 month mark to extend your stay.
Hi,
I was just looking at information on applying for work permits online from within Canada. If I have TRV thats valid for longer then 6 months then I can apply for a work permit form within Canada. So as a visitor , if I was offered a Job while I was in Canada , I would have to leave the country and apply from Singapore?

TRVs are only granted for six months. You would need both a job and an approved LMO to get a work permit. If you have both, you could go to a US/Canada land border to obtain a work permit.
