Hello all. I am an inland applicant with outland dependent - AOR 29 April 2020. I've exhausted several resources but not able to find an unambiguous answer. Please do help if someone knows the right answer.
As IRCC is not issuing any passport requests but direct COPR for inland applicants, does my current TRV (expiry date 20 Oct, 2021) get cancelled if I am outside of Canada and get the COPR.
For example; I want to travel back to India for a few months, incase I get a COPR while in India, can I travel back to Canada on my current TRV and land or will I have to get a PRV issued on my passport?
I can answer you, I called IRCC and know that they will delay issuing COPR for people with outland dependent until your dependent is here
So you won't get COPR until then.

Hi Max. Thanks for your response. So, our dependent will first get a PPR and then the principal applicant will get COPR?
I thought it was the other way around - Principal Applicant gets COPR - Dependent then gets issued a PPR for a PRV.
I wanted to make this trip and be safe in the sense that I can travel back to Canada on my Worker TRV if and in case I get PR while in India as I am planning to head there for a few months at least.
Yes, I did travel. Still in India at the moment - I intend to return after the current ban is lifted on flights from India. No, there has been no update on my file whatsoever. Looks like inland applicant + outland dependent files are just not being touched.
