Hi! How are you? I'm writing an invitation letter for my boyfriend for 9 years to visit me here in Canada. However, I am kinda worried that immigration may deny his application if they found out that we are in a relationship, since I read a lot of posts here that they will surely deny the application if they found out that you are in relationship. If we will only mention that we are only very close friends, will that be a good idea? or should I disclose as boyfriend? Btw, we are in same-sex relationship.

Lying to CIC is not advisible at all.

Be honest.

People get TRVs for visiting SO all the time. I got one for my wife, at-the-time gf. Your SO has to prove a strong tie to his/her country.... that is all...

Yes and also, my at-the-time WIFE, got a visitor visa for life of her passport, and from a country difficult to get visitor visas from too. As mentioned, just state the truth.

Thank you. Did you provide a cover letter for all the documents that you submitted? My boyfriend will be attaching or enclosing docs that were not indicated in the checklist like business registration, investment....etc.
