I've been in Canada since May 2021, on TRV. My passport and TRV expire in Oct 2022.
My partner and I made the decision to get married last October and we are finalizing my PR documents so we can submit for Spousal Sponsorship.
Last February, I got the Visitor Record that allows me to stay in Canada until May. We are expected to submit my PR application through the mail 2 weeks from now while my new passport is in transit from the Philippines.
We've also submitted a request for another extension until Nov - 6 months from May.
Since it is unsure that I will be getting my PR within that 6 months, should I submit a new TRV application on my new passport to make sure I have a valid status, or will the pending extension be sufficient for my stay in Canada?
