Hi,
I have a family member, who was granted TRP @ Port of Entry under special circumstances, since her Spousal application was already underway - the officer was kind enough to grant her TRP.
My question is that how can she apply for a study permit, now that she has a TRP. She wants to go to college to pursue further studies and her spouse is willing to bear all the costs...any links to the application or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=483&t=15
this is link on CIC.
She has to apply for study permit.
she need to get admission from college / University first : A letter saying like " she was accepted and her program started from xxx to xxx).
you can find more info at the international student service (every school offers international service centre, so pay a visit)
Thanks floomy, so from what I understand by reading online is that the person needs to get an admission in a college/university first. Then use that admission acceptance to apply for Study Permit.
Once the Study Permit is issued, the person needs to fill out amendment form to CIC for her TRP.
What do you think? Did I miss anything?
Just want to make sure that all things are accounted for, once after having waited months in all this process and she goes to attend her studies in time and no time is wasted for her

I doubt anyone here will be able to give you a definitive answers. TRPs are already rare around here. I don't remember ever seeing someone who came on a TRP and then applied for a study permit. Assume any advice you receive here will be best guesses. If you're not comfortable with that - you may want to consider hiring an immigration lawyer to assist you.

Sorry, I am not sure about the whole process.
Like I mentioned, you could talk to international student advisor at the school, they would have more info for you
or you can talk to immigration lawyer as scylla said. (normally, immigration lawyer offer free consultant before you hire them )
