trouble in extending study permit

1st semister may 2012 to august 2012
sept 2012 to dec 2012 break
jan 2013 to april 2013 2nd semister

in may2013 my visa expires .... can i extend my study permit

total duration of course 16 months
my friend says that to extend study permit- we should be full time student for consecutive 8 months i.e 2 semisters

a letter from institutional registrar or guidance department and/or photocopies of transcripts from your last two periods of study, if you have studied for two consecutive periods (trimesters, semester, etc.) prior to your application for renewal of your study permit.

It is clearly mentioned, you need to submit those, if you have studied for two consecutive periods (trimesters, semester, etc.) prior to your application for renewal of your study permit. If not, then where would you get those?

You can apply for extension of your SP. That thing you are mentioning is something else.

I have extended it for my own friend, there is no such rules in cic -as long as ur study offer is valid , u can extend ur study permit without any issue, just make sure to add sufficient reason for break in studies. cic undertands it
