Travelling while INLAND applications is being processed.

Hi everyone

I am new to this forum, so please excuse me if I
am asking a question that has been answered here before.

I am currently living in Canada for the last 10 years.
I have not left Canada in that time. My wife is going to sponsor me.

I am debating what application route to take: INLAND or OUTLAND

I want to do INLAND because now
(thanks to the new rules) I can obtain a work permit.

But I also want to go and visit my parents who live
outside of Canada. I may stay with them for 1-2 months.

They have not seen me in 10 years and I hope to see
them as soon as possible.

I know that with INLAND applications, one condition
is that must you stay in Canada and not leave until
you get your PR.

How strict is this rule?

Are there people with INLAND applications who took a
risk and left the country and then came back?

Did you have any issues?

I am wondering if I should take the risk

Any advice?

Sure, plenty of people have done it, but there is the risk. If you are not visa exempt I suggest you don't take the risk because the odds are seriously against them issuing you a visa to return. If you are visa exempt there is always a risk of being denied entry upon return. If you are denied entry then your application will fail, for obvious reasons. Also, you should consider if you are going to leave for upwards of 2 months that they might not like an Inland application with you being outside of the country for such an extended period of time. You might want to consider doing an outland application because of wanting to leave the country for an extended period.
