Anyone travelling to and from the US without a PR card? Can you tell me your experience. I am travelling next week to the states but my PR card has not arrived as yet.

I think entering US shouldn't be a problem if you have valid visa but you will either need PR card or travel document in order to re-enter Canada. If you are coming back to Canada through land border via private car then you can use COPR to re-enter Canada but by all other means NO without PR card or travel document.

From your previous posts, you are visa-exempt. You will be able to board the plane in the US on the strength of just your passport; do not inform the airline of your PR status, as they may refuse to board you without the PR card.

If you are still unsure and have doubts, another safer option could be that if you live relatively close to the US border and can drive to the nearest airport in US, then you should book a flight departing and returning to that US airport. And use the rented or personal vehicle to cross the border using your VISA exempt passport and COPR.

Yea I know but now am doubting myself. But I have no choice now so will see how it goes. Hopefully US will not give me a hassle. I don't think Canada will.

I am going to do the same thing in two weeks...take my copr out of my passport and just use my visa exempt passport to get back. Its the only way its disgraceful we have to resort to that...why they cant print the card when you land is disgraceful
