Travelling to canada from India

Hello,

I am an Indian citizen, recently my visa got approved for Sept 17 intake on 24th Aug 2017 and I received my passport on 28th August. My college begins from 28th August. Visa validity is till 31/08/2018 as per the visa sticker on my passport. As i am not well I want an extension. So how many days can i extend my arrival to canada? Can I transfer my intake to Jan 2018 without reappling for visa?

Please help because my college has already began.

As far as i know the visa would still be valid so talk to your college and get a deferment letter and you can join in Jan 2018 without reapplying for visa.

For sure do not become a no show at the college as that could lead to your study permit possibly being cancelled if they report you did not show up.

So always communicate with the college and explain the situation and if neccessary ask for a deferral. Worst case with a deferral you will probably need to apply for a study permit extension next year.
