Hi, I'm due to travel to U.S.A at the end of March from Canada. I currently hold a BOWP, but I also have my COPR, which I have not activated yet. Will there be any issue on using my BOWP to travel? I would like to activate my COPR on the way back to save myself a trip to the border again. Also is there any other documents I need to travel with the BOWP? Have heard of people having issues travelling with COPR documents and would like to avoid any issues. Thank you in advance
Are you from a visa-exempt country? If so, the only thing I would advise would be to check out the new rules regarding electronic travel authorization (ETA) for your return trip. There are no other real issues travelling on a BOWP, it's just like any other work permit in that regard.

you need not hae trv to cross between canada and usa by road, your bowp should be fine to do the border cross. You need trv only if your are flying in or out from canada eve to usa.

The only things I advise you to bring are your passport (obviously), COPR, and BOWP. There is a longer list floating around somewhere that includes old copies of permits, proof of address, proof of funds (not necessary for CEC), but these aren't really required.
OK, thanks for all your help. It's nice to have peace of mind about these things rather than to have to rectify problems at the border. Have a good day
