I really am hoping there are no snags and we get ours in 8-10 months. I'm just waiting on my marriage certificate to be sent and my husbands tax forms...then off it goes and fingers crossed! I miss him and this has been very hard on us for our first few months of marriage. I'm just looking for visit my dad every couple of months for a long weekend and then return, just hoping no difficulty with returning to Canada. And yes originally I looked at the NY office but I have recently learned they go to Ottawa
From your timeline I can see you applied on 26/06. Those who applied at that time and are going through Ottawa have been receiving requests for further information or getting DM, so you maybe wont be too much longer. You could maybe check your status on ECAS to see if your 'in process' but Ottawa seem to have a habit of not doing that until very shortly before a decision is made...if at all.

thanks again. I have delayed requesting extension and it says that we should have applied 30 days before expiry.
There is about two weeks left. Will this be an issue?
