So here's my situation. I was on a work permit (along with a multiple entry visa) that's valid till Jun 2019. Recently, I received my PR, and got my COPR signed (inland landing at Etobicoke).
I understand that in order for you to travel w/o your PR card, you need to get a travel document or cross the border by land (this is something that I've already done).
I was under the assumption that my other work visas will be cancelled when I do the PR landing, but I see that they haven't made any changes there.
So, here's my question - Can I travel to another country, and then on my way back I'll show my work visa stamp (which looks valid) to the airport authorities so that they let me board the aircraft, and then enter as a PR (using my signed COPR) when I reach the airport in Canada?
There have been cases like yours and apparently you can make it back in with your signed COPR. I wouldn't recommend it of course and I will do more research on this if I were you. Don't take my word for it. Stay tuned for for more replies.
Best of luck,

Some people have reported being able to do this. It is up to you whether to take the risk of showing up at the airport and potentially being refused boarding because your TRV is no longer valid.

Hi, has anyone travelled recently from US to Canada by personal car with CoPR? I received my CoPR recently, but realized that I cannot travel with CoPR after I received that. I have a travel to US coming up in November 1st week and I cannot miss that. I have a valid US visa, so going to US is not an issue for me.

I also got COPR a few days ago. I m going to USA and while returning back, i will show COPR. After you get signed by border officials, you can't travel without a PR card or PRTD document. This is the rule. My friend already went to USA 2 months ago with COPR and came back for landing. Other friend went to her home country china and did the landing at canadian port of entry. Even the copr instructions say that you need to go out of country (you should have visa for the country you intend to go) and land as pr. If you have any contradictory link please mention here as reply.

Please reply as soon as possible as I m going to border tomorrow
Thanks,

For your case, as you already did the inland landing (at IRCC office) inEtobicoke, your COPr is endorsed and signed. Then you should wait till you get PR card for travel outside canada.
